EverQuest

EQ Luclin Box ArtThe Luclin Expansion for EverQuest came out at just the right time to catch my attention. It was the Third EverQuest Expansion and was very ambitious graphically, but more important was that the expansion added a new player race, the Vah Shir.

I was already considering leaving UO; and when I found out that in EQ I could now create a character in a feline race, the decision to move to EQ was easy to make.

My EverQuest Characters

Tarew Marr Server (Now Drinal)
Nagdel PictureNagdel Sharpeclaws (Level 45 Vah-Shir Warrior)
Nagdel was the First EQ Character I created.

If any Vah Shir truly has a vice, it is Nagdel. He simply can not resist chasing flying objects ... birds, bats... and especially anything which reminds him of Moths.

He is a master Blacksmith. His goal in life is to become a Guardian of the City of Shar Vahl (Nagdel is one of the few Player Characters that have the traditional Vah Shir Curved Scimitar. He received two of them, one of which he gave to Faawzi)
Picture of JitarJitar GrRahiir (Level 66 Vah-Shir Beastlord)
Jitar is my Main Character in EverQuest.

Jitar's love of Questing has made him somewhat of an amateur Lore keeper of the Vah Shir. Through his research, he has learned and compiled many of the little known facts about the Vah Shir which are hidden in Scrolls and books scattered all over Luclin and Norath. This knowledge though has it's drawbacks....

While most Vah Shir are Neutral to other Races, Jitar's knowledge of the translocation have made him cold of manner to Norathans in general, and specifically to Erudites (which he has been known to hiss at.) He tends to stay in the company of other Vah Shir and on the moon Luclin, traveling to Norath only when necessary. He is well known for his refusal to speak Norathan Languages (including Common, which he considers a vile human perversion.)

Unlike Most Beastlords, He Prefers Heavy (and Frightening looking) Melee weapons and is well known for the spiked "baseball bat"  he often carries. (See Picture Above) Although he is also well skilled with spear and Claw.
Faawzi Fastpaws (Level 50 Vah-Shir Tarrun)

He is known to many as "teacher" having helped over 200 new Everquest players figure out the world. He can often be found in Shar Vahl helping new players figure out how to sit down and speak properly, as well as guiding them through the initial quest to become a citizen.

Faawzi is a traditionalist and follows the path of the Vah Shir Taruun, which are the hunters and preparers of food for the Vah Shir Community.

Faawzi is a master Boyer/Fletcher and makes his own bows and arrows. He is one of the few Vah Shir PC's to have the traditional Vah Shir Guardian curved scimitar, which he received from Nagdel.
Ohmiyak Roastisburnt (Level 55 Vah-Shir Shaman)
Dukdak (Level 64 Froglok Cleric)

A Devout follower of Mithaniel Marr, Dukdak has devoted his life in holy service. He can often be found at the Temple of Life in Freeport, or instructing younglings in his home city.

In combat, he is known for bashing his enemies over the head with his book of prayers.
Leandorth (Level 55 Human Necromancer)

Leandorth is the only Human Character I have created in EQ
Dokor (Level 30 Iksar Shadow Knight)

Rribur Stixx (Level 25 Froglok Wizzard)

The flashiest frog on Norath, Rribur's unique robes are easily recognizable even from a Half a Zone away.
Ferona Vie (Roleplaying / Advanced Server)
Grodak (Level 35 Iksar Monk)

Grodak is a master in the use of Shuriken.

Morden Rasp Server (Now Povar)
Khulrn ["Kuh-LEARN"] (Level 55 Iksar Necromancer)

Khulrn is defiantly not the typical EQ Necromancer. He prefers direct Melee combat to Kiting. He also works well in groups and is a quite capable backup healer in addition to inflicting direct damage and DOT spells.

Teril Fawzipaws (Level 40 Vah Shir Rogue)
Geag Mei (Level 25 Froglok Wizzard)

Guilds

I was in a number of Guilds in EverQuest, some just friends having fun and some that were serious Raid Guilds... Guardians of the Litterbox, Blades of the Fallen, and Breath of Kali. None of them figured out what a Guild was supposed to be and quickly self-destructed. Usually due to the Greed of the guild management.

The last (BOK) was distressing enough to make me loose interest in the game for a long time.
